Rules & Regulations

The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members and have been established to assure safe and sanitary operation of the club facilities. It is the desire of the Nob Valley Swim Club to make the club a place of enjoyment for its members. Every member and their guest can do their part by strict adherence to the rules.

1. Club Hours

A. Memorial Day to Labor Day

Saturdays: Noon to Dusk

Sundays: Noon to Dusk

Weekdays: Noon to Dusk*

*Effective the first day after the close of school term in June.

B. An area of the pool may be reserved for instruction Monday through Friday as needed.

C. Club Manager in conjunction with Social Chairperson may designate special events and nights for swimming.

D. The pool may be closed for maintenance operations, health conditions, weather, or any reason deemed sufficient by Club Manager.

E. The club may be closed 30 minutes before dusk any night at the discretion of the Club Manager if less than 5 persons are present.

2. Member Obligations

A. Members must sign in when entering.

B. Members must register and pay for guests when they are entering Violators shall be subject to suspension of Club privileges.

C. The cost of any property damage will be charged to the responsible active member.

3. Rules of Conduct

A. Members shall drive slowly and carefully on driveway and in parking area. The speed limit is 5 m.p.h.

B. Bicycles shall be parked in the designated area.

C. No scooters will be permitted on premises.

D. No dogs, cats, or other pets will be permitted on club property.

E. No intoxicants will be permitted within fenced in pool area.

F. No glass bottles, drinking glasses or other similar glass materials will be permitted in the fenced pool area.

4. Guests

A. Each member family shall be allowed 15 guest privileges per month. A guest privilege consists of one day's admission of a single individual to the club during club hours. Guest privileges are not transferable.

B. Guest privileges shall not be extended to the same person more than 5 times per season, regardless of sponsor.

C. Additional guest privileges may be granted for special Club sponsored activities: notice of such will be posted in advance.

D. All guests and non-swimming spectators must be accompanied by and registered by a member.

E. Persons not accepted for membership in the club will not be admitted as guests.

F. Conduct and cost of any property damaged by guests is the direct responsibility of the sponsoring member.

G. A guest may leave and re-enter the Club at any time during the same day with no additional charges.

H. Non-Paying spectators shall not be classified as guests nor shall they be restricted in their number of visits, provided a member accompanies them.

I. Rate for Guests: Guests will pay fees as posted.

5. Pavilion

A. Parties of 10 or more must be booked in advance with the manager. A $25 deposit will be required at time of booking and will be applied to guest fees.

B. Use & area may be limited as a result of Club sponsored activities.

C. It shall be the responsibility of the member to clean the area used also including the grills and cooking utensils.

6. Safety and Health Regulations

A. Smoking is not allowed on the pool deck.

B. Admission to the pool may be refused to anyone with colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, infections or wearing bandages.

C. No container of any kind shall be allowed on the pool deck.

D. No running, pushing, wrestling, ball playing, or causing undue disturbance in or about the pool area.

E. Inflatable objects will be allowed in the pool at the discretion of the Club Manager.

F. Children under ten years of age will not be permitted in the club area unless accompanied by an adult. SUPERVISED INSTRUCTION TIME IS EXCEPTED. Or if the Manager has given approval based upon prescribed swimming test.

G. No one shall be allowed in the deep section and diving area unless able to pass a prescribed swimming test.

H. Any child using a flotation device must be accompanied by an adult.

I. Children in wading pool must be supervised at all times by an adult OTHER THAN EMPLOYEES.

J. Use of wading pool shall be limited to children under 8 years of age. Soft plastic or rubber toys of reasonable size will be permitted.

7. General

A. All persons using any of the Club facilities do so at their own risk. The Club will not be responsible for any accident or injury  in connection with such use.

B. The Club will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property.

C. All swimmers shall be properly attired. Swimming apparel shall be governed by Club Manager.

D. Regulations for the use of the Tennis and Handball courts will be governed by the Club Manager.

E. All complaints must be in writing, signed and mailed to: Nob Valley Swim Club, Inc. Box 7159, North Brunswick, NJ 08902, attention of Secretary.

F. These rules may be revised or additional rules established at any time by the Rules Committee. These will be posted on the bulletin board at the Club.
