The next 2 Movie Nights will be Viewers’ Choice. Look out for ballots in your email and at the club. The two movies with the most votes will be shown in August. If you have any movies that you would like to nominate for our August Movie Nights, please contact Michelle Scarpa at mscarpa@nobvalleyswimclub.com. If you nominate a movie, you must be willing to let the club borrow your copy. All movies must be family friendly for ALL AGES and rated G or PG.

The Nob Valley Swim Team would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Nob Valley Club members for their support during the recent summer swim season. They would especially like to thank Coaches Julie, Kevin and Chris as well as their volunteer coaches Evan, Rebecca and Sarah. A big thanks also to Mr. Jay Gibbons, their parent coordinator!
Just a few reminders for the Swim Team and Their Parents……….
• The photographer will be at the pool on Tuesday evening, July 28th at 6:30pm for team and individual photos.• There will be a swim team parents’ meeting on Tuesday, July 28th in the Pavilion at 6:30pm. Plans for the awards party will be discussed at this meeting.• Championships will be held this Saturday, August 1st at North Brunswick High School. For those of you that have not been at conferences please remember to bring a chair, blankets, music and some reading material. • Swimmers and their parents will “camp out” in the gym while waiting for their events to be called at Championships.• Conferences will be held at Frog Hollow in South Amboy during the first week of August. Coach Julie will inform the swimmers if their times qualify for this event.• The Nob Valley Team Picnic and Awards Party will be held on Friday, August 7th. More information will follow shortly.
Swim to Fight Cancer
We have all been touched by cancer in one-way or another. It is important for our future and the future of our children to work towards a cure for this deadly disease. Karen Zahler, one of our members, would like to organize a fundraiser for cancer research. One of the ways to do this is to participate with the organization called The Swim Across America Group and their National Pool Program (swimacrossamerica.org/national_pool).
Karen would like to know if NVSC members would be interested in holding and participating in this event. She thinks it would be a great way to teach our kids about giving back to our community. Please email Karen@zahler.com if you are interested in helping and/or swimming in this fundraiser.
